With Jimmy Garoppolo open to a package deal with Deebo Samuel, there are three teams in particular who should try and make something happen.
There’s going to be a major shake-up ahead of the NFL Draft, as some head-turning moves are expected to be on the way. For the San Francisco 49ers, it looks like both Deebo Samuel and Jimmy Garoppolo could be headed to new teams.
With that said, Garoppolo made it clear while speaking to FanSided’s Mark Carman that he’d be more than open to a package deal to keep playing with Samuel. With this, there’s three teams in particular who shouldn’t hesitate in picking up the phone.
3. Carolina Panthers
Starting off with the Carolina Panthers, the team has been linked of late to a trade for Baker Mayfield. Not everyone is on board for that, including wideout Robby Anderson. Anderson essentially blasted the thought of that move to the sun.
Sam Darnold doesn’t appear to be the answer for this team at quarterback either, so landing a veteran like Garoppolo could be of great benefit for the Panthers. On top of that, few players in the league are as electric as Samuel.
With Christian McCaffrey also back to full health, the thought of he and Samuel suiting up and making plays together is enough to provide plenty of anxiety for opposing defenses. Samuel truly is a one of a kind talent.
Making this go down wouldn’t be cheap, but Carolina should give this some thought. Both Garoppolo and Samuel would cost a bit of a pretty penny for the Panthers, but multiple draft picks from Carolina could a deal to go down.
