Man United boost as trio return to training ahead of Arsenal clash

Three key members of Ralf Rangnick’s Manchester United squad were spotted back in first-team training on Thursday, ahead of the club’s meeting with Arsenal.

The Red Devils are of course set to return to action in just shy of 48 hours’ time.

Fresh off an embarrassing 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, United will be desperate for a bounce-back display when they make the trip to the Emirates, for a crunch showdown amid the tense battle for Champions League football in the Premier League.

After Arsenal returned to winning ways courtesy of an impressive 4-2 downing of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night, though, it is Saturday’s hosts who will no doubt head into proceedings altogether more confident of securing a result.

The aforementioned Rangnick, in turn, will therefore be hopeful of having as many of his key performers as possible fit and available to feature from the off in north London.

And, if the latest photos stemming from Manchester United’s training ground on Thursday are anything to go by, then the Reds’ personnel ranks, fortunately, look set for an imminent boost.

This comes with not one, not two, but three members of the club’s squad to have missed out on the action at Anfield on Tuesday having linked back up with their teammates at Carrington.

The players in question? Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane, and Scott McTominay.

All three, in turn, will be expected to play at least some part in proceedings at the Emirates on Saturday.

Ten Hag incoming

News of the return of all of Ronaldo, Varane, and McTominay of course caps off what has proven a fine day for all associated with Manchester United to date.

This comes with those in a position of power at Old Trafford having finally put the ongoing speculation surrounding the club’s bench to bed.

Set to take charge of the Red Devils ahead of the 2022/23 campaign is the highly-regarded Erik ten Hag, whose imminent Ajax departure was made official earlier this afternoon:
