Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has, on Friday, provided a fresh insight into his ongoing contract negotiations with the club.
The subject of Egyptian international Salah’s future has of course come back to the fore in a major way of late.
This comes with the former AS Roma stand out, in the midst of another stellar campaign to date, yet to agree to terms to extend his contract at Anfield beyond the summer of 2023.
The initial assumption across the media upon negotiations being opened between the two parties was that a renewal was something of a formality, but this has since proven far from the case.
Salah, in turn, has even been tipped for a potential summer exit, with a host of European football’s biggest clubs understood to be keeping a close eye on the situation.
Speaking in an interview with FourFourTwo on Friday, it, therefore, came as little surprise when the subject of his contract talks with Liverpool was put to Salah himself.
The 29-year-old, though, remained largely tight-lipped.
Salah appeared to reiterate that he is hopeful of staying put on Merseyside beyond 2023, albeit only before admitting that, at present, he simply ‘doesn’t know what the future holds:
Mo Salah tells FourFourTwo on his contract: “I have one year left. I think the fans know what I want, but in the contract it’s not everything about the money at all. So I don’t know, I can’t tell you”. 🔴 #LFC @AnfieldWatch pic.twitter.com/4zNXjD3IEt

Red Devils downed
Salah’s latest comments of course come fresh on the back of the Egyptian exploding back into form during the week.
In the midst of a rare six-game stretch without a goal to his name, Salah was nevertheless afforded a start when Liverpool welcomed arch-rivals Manchester United to Anfield for a crunch Premier League showdown on Tuesday night.
And, safe to say, the ex-Chelsea man went on to put any lingering concerns over his form firmly to bed, bagging a brace, as well as an assist, en route to a 4-0 triumph.
